Cape Coral Police Detectives Arrest Burglary/Grand Theft Suspect
(May 10, 2013)- Cape Coral Detectives have arrested Joseph Charles Bachelor, 28, on one count of Burglary, one count of Grand Theft, five counts of False Information to a Pawnbroker and five counts of Dealing in Stolen Property.
On April 9th a woman discovered that her jewelry was missing from her home. With no sign of forced entry to her home, she suspected her daughter's boyfriend, Joseph Charles Bachelor. Detectives began investigating and discovered that Bachelor had pawned several pieces of women's' jewelry over the past several months, dating back to December. The victim was able to identify her property as some of that which was pawned and sold.
Employees at a local gold dealer identified Bachelor as the person who sold some of the victim's property. Forensics Technicians from the Cape Coral Police Department positively matched the fingerprints from transaction paperwork for the gold sales to that of Bachelor.
On Thursday May 9th, Bachelor was located by Detectives at his mother's home and taken into custody. He remains in the Lee County Jail.
