NEWS RELEASE: Habitual Felony Offender Sentenced to 5 1/2 Years
(September 8, 2014)- A burglar arrested by Cape Coral Police Department Patrol Officers in 2013 has taken a plea deal that will keep him off the streets for several years.
Andrew Miklavcic, W/M, DOB: 01-11-1967, of 5103 Sunnybrook Ct., Cape Coral was arrested on October 21, 2013 for a daytime occupied burglary in the 5300 block of Coral Avenue, Cape Coral. Miklavcic fled the home he broke into only to be caught in his car by Cape Coral Police Department Patrol Officers a short distance away. Working with Cape Coral Property Detectives, burglary tools were located in his vehicle, Miklavcic was positively identified by the victims, and his story "explaining" his presence was quickly disproven.
Miklavcic took a plea to 66 months in State DOC as a habitual Felony Offender, due to his prior arrest record.
