Meghan Hicks has worked for the Cape Coral Police Department for 16 years and is currently assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau as a Detective.

During Women’s History Month we are asking our women about their experiences at the Cape Coral Police Department.

What is the most satisfying part of being a Detective for the Cape Coral Police Department?

It has always been a goal of mine to become a Detective and I take great pride in investigating victims’ cases to get them answers and justice they are seeking. I have thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity, the assignment, and the ability to work alongside great fellow Detectives and personnel of this department as a team.

What advice would you give to a woman who wants to become a law enforcement officer?

I would tell women to never give up on obtaining your goals. It is possible with hard work and determination to have a challenging and rewarding career in law enforcement.

What are your career ambitions?

I want to keep growing, learning, and challenging myself within the department. I want to continue to contribute to the department and to help keep the citizens of Cape Coral safe.
